Yeah, I’m keeping WordPress’s first title option.
So, here’ s the thing: I consistently test for ISTJ on the Myer-Briggs personality test. (Check it out and do your own testing here.) When I first read the description for robot people or ISTJ’s as we’re more professionally known, I was miffed. And took the test again. And again. No change.
Maybe it’s not so much an indicator of who I am as an indicator of who I see myself as. There’s a small difference, true. But that’s knowledge. And knowledge is power. So according to the Myer-Briggs Foundation (link above), ISTJ’s are
“Quiet, serious, earn success by thoroughness and dependability. Practical, matter-of-fact, realistic, and responsible. Decide logically what should be done and work toward it steadily, regardless of distractions. Take pleasure in making everything orderly and organized – their work, their home, their life. Value traditions and loyalty.”
However, I’m also into fantasy. I love to consume it in various mediums (here’s looking at you 12 hours of extras on Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings Special Extended Editions! More time in Middle-earth, hooray!)
I’m also writing my own fantasy novel. Why? Because sometimes you just have to write what you want to read as it’s simply not out there. (Though there’s plenty of other good stuff – it’s just not what I have in my head.)
Want to see how that works? How an ISTJ type writes fantasy? Then this blog might be for you. It’s meant as a production diary for myself. But feel free to join me on my quest to publish fiction for robot people.
And remember: all adventure are belong to us!
